UPPCL and the UP government have launched this relief scheme from December 1, 2025. Under this scheme:

  • If you have unpaid old electricity bills and interest or surcharge has been added to them, then 100% surcharge/interest will be waived off.
  • Apart from this, up to 25% discount will be given on the principal amount (original bill).
  • For example: If your original outstanding bill was ₹40,000 and with interest it reached ₹52,000, then under this scheme you may have to pay only around ₹30,000 and everything will be cleared.

  • It is mainly for domestic consumers and small commercial users.

  • After registration, the department will recalculate your outstanding amount remove the interest, apply the discount, and then show you the updated payable amount.
  • You will then get two options One-Time Settlement (OTS) or Easy Installments.

Till When Will the Waiver Be Available?

  • The scheme started on December 1, 2025.

  • The third and final phase will run from February 1, 2026 to February 28/29, 2026 (Up to 15% discount on the principal amount).
